We have talked with the barbering industry about the review of the New Zealand Certificate in Commercial Barbering Level 4 to ensure it is fit for purpose. Our advisory group has now finalised the new version of the qualification.

This is currently New Zealand’s only barbering qualification, and we are developing new skill standards to meet the requirements of a contemporary barbershop, including commercial barber services, professional standards and operations. We are also collaborating with industry on a programme guidance document for providers, to make sure they are designing and delivering barbering programmes that give learners the skills to succeed.
