Focus on archivists and librarians

Toi Mai is engaging with archivists and librarians to discuss the sector’s training and workforce needs – current and future – and identify challenges, opportunities and growth areas, including AI.

The work is being undertaken in response to a request from industry for a wider workforce planning approach across the whole GLAMMI sector (galleries, libraries, archives, museums, marae and iwi).

Librarians and archivists work across a variety of agencies and organisations, including council, university, polytech and law libraries, the National library, Archives NZ, church, music and sound archives, and iwi archives, a growth area.

The Toi Mai Librarian and Archivist Workforce Development Plan and consultation details will be published on the Toi Mai website in due course.
