This New Zealand Certificate in Piano Tuning and Technology has been developed in partnership with the New Zealand Piano Tuners and Technicians Guild (NZPTTG) and addresses a critical shortage of piano tuners in New Zealand by providing a pathway for locally trained graduates who can operate at a recognised industry standard.
The qualification was listed in July 2023 and can be viewed here.
As the qualification has only just been developed, there will be a delay while an education provider puts together an appropriate programme/course of study for trainees to enrol in. Toi Mai and Te Pūkenga are currently exploring options to develop a programme ready for delivery sometime in 2024.
In the meantime, NZPTTG is keeping a waitlist for prospective trainees and intends to offer short workshops/work experience opportunities to provide a better understanding of what it is like to work as a piano tuner. To be added to this waitlist, please contact NZPTTG at [email protected]
