Industry consultation and development process

The review of CMR 0099 was an extensive process that involved consultation with industry stakeholders to ensure the new version accurately reflects industry expectations. Toi Mai engaged in a variety of consultation methods, including face-to-face meetings, advisory meetings, email communications, and surveys. Additionally, providers and schools were consulted to ensure that CMR 0099 Version 9 is clear, accessible, and does not create unnecessary barriers.

An internal all-staff consultation session was also conducted to enhance understanding across Toi Mai, reinforcing the importance of consent and moderation requirements within the organisation.

Implementation and support

Toi Mai intends to transition all unit standards under its coverage to CMR 0099. Moving forward, all new Consent to Assess applications must comply with CMR 0099 Version 9 criteria. To support kura/schools in making informed decisions regarding unit and skill standards, Toi Mai has developed a guidance document to accompany CMR 0099 Version 9.

We would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank all stakeholders who contributed to the consultation process. We appreciate the engagement from industry experts, providers, and advisory groups, whose insights have been invaluable in shaping this update. Special thanks to Te Ao Tūroa advisory for their pragmatic approach and collaboration in refining these requirements.
