This skill standard has been developed as an introduction to podcasting. It covers basic foundational skills for those who want to create and organise content through the medium of podcasting, but also fosters digital literacy and practical communication skills.
The standard is the first to be developed for a proposed domain of Content Creation, which was the result of the recent review of qualifications in Communications Media and Radio Broadcasting. These qualifications were subsequently retitled as Content Creation to reflect changes in the industry where content is now created and published across a range of platforms, as well as a growing interest among learners to independently create and publish their own content. Further developments in this space are likely to follow soon.
