Toi Puaki, as part of one of the creative sectors, applies the creative process to show, reveal and give testimony (puaki) to ideas and thoughts through artistic and performance skills. This sector has the highest rates of self-employment.

Performing Arts Teaching
Dance qualifications review – We are currently reviewing three Dance qualifications as part of the mandatory review of qualifications.
Music qualifications review – We are currently reviewing three Music qualifications as part of the mandatory review of qualifications.
Performing Arts Emerging Tutor micro-credential and skill standards – We have developed a new micro-credential and three skill standards in collaboration with social community providers.
Performing Arts qualifications review – We are currently reviewing four Performing Arts qualifications as part of the mandatory review of qualifications.
Entertainment and Event Technology unit standard review – We are reviewing and seeking feedback on a large suite of unit standards.
Drama qualifications review – We have proposed changes to three Drama qualifications as part of the mandatory review of qualifications.
Performance Technology qualifications – We are currently reviewing three Performance Technology qualifications as part of the mandatory review of qualifications.
Kia Mura! – Toi Puaki workforce development plan, released 2024.
Piano Tuning qualification – We developed this in partnership with the New Zealand Piano Tuners and Technicians Guild (NZPTTG).
Entertainment and Event Operations L3 qualification and unit standard review – We completed the review of one qualification and three unit standards. These have now been approved by NZQA.
DJ and Electronic Music Production and Audio Engineering and Production qualifications review – We completed the review of three qualifications. These have now been approved by NZQA.
