Conservation micro-credentials development

Following feedback gathered during the earlier development of a level 2 micro-credential, Toi Mai – with industry and providers – has developed two level 3 micro-credentials in Conservation, and we want to hear your thoughts!

The two proposed micro-credentials, each of 15 credits, and skill standards are listed below in summary with their learning outcomes. Scroll down for resources and to provide feedback.

 

  • Conservation Practical and Technical Skills – Conservation Activity (micro-credential) (level 3, 15 credits)  
    • Prepare for a conservation activity in a team context  
    • Discuss two or more control methods for the conservation activity  
    • Select appropriate control methods, technology and data collection techniques for a conservation activity  
    • Undertake activity using selected technical system and method in line with best practice  
    • Record basic details of daily work, including location and data collection  
    • Complete self-reflection on using local tikanga and kawa practices in a conservation activity    

 

  • Managing Self for Conservation Activity (micro-credential) (level 3, 15 credits)  
    • Work proactively as a team in a conservation activity  
    • Demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety requirements    
    • Prepare self appropriately for the day

  1. Are the purpose and graduate outcomes adequate and appropriate?
  2. Are the titles of the qualifications appealing, and do they accurately reflect the content and outcomes?
