Toi Mai Workforce Development Council, in collaboration with Auckland Museum and Service IQ, has recently drafted some proposed changes to New Zealand Certificate in Museum Practice (Level 4).
The proposed changes to the qualification include the introduction of two strands:
As part of this review, we have also developed two new skill standards to support the proposed Indigenous Conservation strand:
We now invite further input and feedback from the museum sector, education providers, and related stakeholders to ensure the qualification and new standards reflect current and emerging needs within New Zealand’s GLAM sector, and support pathways for both museum operations and kaupapa Māori-based conservation practice.
