Dance qualifications review

We have reviewed the following qualifications in Dance:

• NZ Certificate in Dance Level 4 [Ref: 3413]
• NZ Diploma in Dance Level 5 [Ref: 3425]
• NZ Diploma in Dance Level 6 [Ref: 3426]

These qualifications are now with NZQA for final approval and listing in February 2025.

Proposed changes across the qualifications

• General conditions for programmes have been updated to assist programme developers and reflect a strengthened emphasis on the integration of te ao Māori and other cultural perspectives, and considerations for accessibility.
• The strategic purpose statements and GPOs have been amended to better articulate required competencies for graduates in dance-specific contexts. The amendments also clarify how learners progress through the qualifications at each level.
